Situation in Kosovo*: “Negotiated settlements always require the involvement and goodwill of all parties”, PACE rapporteur says23-Jan-2012![]() Strasbourg, 20.01.2012 - “The whole region is facing decisions which call for considerable responsibility and risks which can be tackled only by courageous leadership. Pro-European leaders should demonstrate that they are prepared to take on responsibility”, Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly (PACE) rapporteur on the situation in Kosovo*, Björn von Sydow (Sweden, SOC), said today at the end of a two day visit to Belgrade. Many lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender ( LGBT ) persons cannot fully enjoy their universal human rights. They run a risk of becoming victims of hate crime and may not receive protection when attacked in the street by fellow citizens. Some LGBT organisations are denied registration or are banned from organising peaceful meetings and demonstrations in Europe.
